Assessors

The Village of Lyons Falls property tax assessments are determined by the assessor for the town in which your property is located. All assessing questions should be directed to either Karen Shaw, Assessor for the Town of West Turin, at 315-982-0621, or Cindy Shaw, Assessor for the Town of Lyonsdale, at 315-286-8364.

The village holds public hearings for the Annual Budget at the April meeting, and the Annual Organizational meeting held during the December meeting.

Taxes are prepared by the Lewis County Real Property Office and are mailed to property owners on or about June 1st. Taxes are due to the village clerk’s office, no later than June 30th to pay without penalty. Any taxes remaining unpaid on October 31st are returned to the Lewis County Treasurer to be added to the property owner’s town taxes due in January. Additional penalties are added during this process called “Relevy of Taxes”.
